Lençóis Maranhenses, Brazil
This place might look like your regular kind of dessert, but it actually isn’t a desert at all, it’s a national park. This area gets quite a lot of rain, quite frequently, but there’s no plants here. However, because of abundant rain, it occasionally gets flooded. The water, being unable to go anywhere because of large rocks underneath the sand dunes, forms lagoons between the sand dunes. This creates an illusion of a water oasis in the middle of the desert. Nature can be very tricky, am I right?
